BGP Security Features…

In this article, we’re going to look at what is actually happening to the underlying BGP packets as different features are applied.  This might be considered a rather dry exercise to some, but I wanted to dig deep into what these features are actually doing to fully understand why I’d use one feature over another.  As you read on, I’m sure you’ll find this quite fascinating.  While the IOS documentation provides some great material, the documents don’t always dig as deep as some of us would like, which is why we’re digging around in this article.


BGP Base Topology

The following topology is what I’m going to be using for some future BGP entries in the future.  The topology is pretty basic, however allows for the demonstration of several different Cisco IOS BGP features.
